Hi,

the "s:password" way of entering the key is not supported with all drivers.
You should try to enter the key in HEX digits.

e.g.:
iwconfig eth0 key C0E5-F563-73E8-E331-6D5D-5386-20

You might also have to add the keyword "open" or "restricted" after the key
to force open or shared-key mode. Some cards do not associate well with an
AP in automatic mode.

Subject: [driverloader] WEP not working on broadcom 4301

Hi

I've got driverloader 1.36 installed.
My network card is a Linksys WMP11 card with a broadcom bcm4301 rev 2
chip (according to cat /proc/pci).

Driverloader works and I get wireless network connection but I have
to disable WEP on my network.

If I try to set a WEP key I get the following:
[root at host root]# iwconfig eth0 key s:somekey
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device eth0 ; Operation not supported.

Any ideas why this is?

Thanks
  Hrafnkell
