[driverloader] kernelcompiler.sh failing on gentoo

kernelcompiler.sh fails with need "gcc 3.3.1 or similar" on gentoo with 
driverloader 1.45, but gcc is version 3.3.2 which should be similar 
enough. I am able to compile and load modules with a hacked Makefile that 
skips this test and simply invokes 'gcc'.
