[driverloader] procedure to upgrade driver due to kernel update

What is the recommended procedure to upgrade the driver (using an rpm) as a
result of installing a new kernel?  Does one first uninstall the old and
start from scratch?

 

The specific system I am working with is Fedora Core 1.
