Hi,

with the following line in your '/etc/modprobe.conf' file:

---
install ipw2200 /bin/true # temporarily disabled by driverloader -
conflicts with w29n51.inf
---

the 'ipw2200' should not be automatically loaded in your kernel, unless
the 'insmod' command is used instead of the 'modprobe' command to load
this module.

For the problem, please try with different versions of the Windows XP
driver to see if there is a difference. You could also try with WPA
support to see if this is the source of the problem or not.
