[hcflinux] Still no /dev/ttyHCFO

I have tried to install the modem again with the latest version – 
hcflinmodem-0.91mbsibeta02042500-1_mandrake.i586 and i get the same 
problem – no /dev/ttyHCFO or /dev/cuaHCFO.

I have followed the instructions exactlky so does anybody know why it 
does not appear at all after reportign no errors at all during hcfconfig?

I downloaded and installed the latest version 
(hcflinmodem-0.9mbsibeta02042200-1_mandrake.i586) for my mandrake 8.2 for 
my Conexant HCF:

SUBVENDOR ID           : 14F1
SUBDEVICE ID           : 1035
REVISION ID            : 08
VENDOR NAME            : CONEXANT
DEVICE NAME            : HCF P85 DATA/FAX/VOICE/SPEAKERPHONE

It all seems to install fine and hcfconfig goes through, but then when 
after it says it should now be visible at /dev/ttyHCFO or /dev/cuaHCFO 
it's not.  /dev/modem is not present either.

Does anybody have any ideas why and what i can do to solve this.
