[hcflinux] RE: Tar HCF Driver Install

To use the tar package the development tools (make, gcc, etc..) must be
installed.

I think that in your case it would be much simpler to install the
Mandrake RPM package (which contains pre-built binaries):
	rpm -i hcflinmodem-0.91mbsibeta02042500-1_mandrake.i586.rpm
