[hcflinux] Installation of HCF modem drivers under Linux Mandrake 7.X

Installation of the HCF modem drivers under Linux mandrake 7.1/7.2 presents the following problems:

    a)    The version of rpm used under Mandrake 7.1 is too early to allow installation or rebuilding from
            the generic rpms. The solution is to unbundle the tarball and install using "make install".

    b)    On Mandrake 7.1 and 7.2 the link to the kernel source directory under /lib/modules/version/build
            is missing causing the recompilation of the kernel modules to fail.

The example solution for Mandrake kernel version 2.2.19 is to create a link to /usr/src/linux-2.2.19 to /usr/lib/modules/2.2.19mdk/build (if it does not exist). The software then builds ok under Mandrake 7.1 and 7.2.

I have not got the Mandrake 7.0x distro for i486 but would suggest that both the above problems occur for this distribution. Perhaps somebody out there will confirm/refute this for the benefit of others.
