I am experiencing the same RH 8.0 problem as recently described: I installed the driver using RPM and the hcfpciconfig script hangs after the automatic hardware detection prompt.

When I had RH 7.3, I was successfully using the 0.93 driver. After performing a clean "workstation" install of RH 8.0 (not upgrade), I tried the following drivers:

hcfpcimodem-0.98mbsibeta02101001k2.4.18_14-1rh.i686.rpm
hcfpcimodem-0.98mbsibeta02101000k2.4.18_14-1rh.i686.rpm
hcfpcimodem-0.98mbsibeta02101000k2.4.18_14-1rh.i386.rpm

I am using RH 8.0, kernel 2.4.18-14, the output of "rpm -q --qf '%{ARCH}\n' kernel" is i686. My modem is a 14F1:1036. Please let me know if there is any other information that is helpful. Thanks!
