[hcflinux] Install - Update

Hello,

I ran the instructions provided at:
http://www.rpm.org/hintskinks/repairdb/

by John Spray. the commands:
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
-and-
rpm --rebuilddb

all ran fine. I then right clicked on the RPM file and ran OPEN. It says
that the package is already installed.

So, I ran the info provided by Bertrik Sikken to force an install:
rpm -ivh <rpm-name> --force

This got to the 2nd line of the program, both lines reading 100%. I fired
up another terminal window and ran TOP. It showed the processes as
expected. The window that had the force command running kept going to
various degrees for 10 minutes. A P III, 450 MHz, with 128 MB RAM, I just
cannot see it taking that long.

So, I went to do the long way to solve this. Saved a copy, but could not
run any of the commands:
db_verify
db_dump

It comes back with BASH command not found.

For grins, I did run a:
rpm-qa

and it immediately came back to the command prompt.

So, I see that that these db commands need to be ran in order to get the db
straight, yes? Can anyone please tell me why the db commands are not
running and if so how to run them please?

Thank you,
Stephen H. Dawson
