Ok, so the problem should not be related neither to System.map nor to
modules.dep...
Do you have a modules.conf file in /etc ? If not, create a empty one with
"touch".
Did you compile the network support and related stuff in your kernel?
Did you check the path to your kernel source files? As i told you,
hcfpciconfig looks for /usr/src/linux.
Maybe you should take a look at hcfpciconfig : it is a script, located
in /usr/sbin. Try to find where it stops, may be it will give you a clue about
what you lack.
