Hi all on list,

   I have a rather troubling problem. I'd like to uninstall the
hcfpcimodem package since I removed the hardware it was for. Now it
seems rpm won't let me. Here are the disturbing commands:

# rpm -e hcfpcimodem-0.99mbsibeta02123100k2.4.18_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm

error: package
hcfpcimodem-0.99mbsibeta02123100k2.4.18_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm is not installed

But...

# rpm -i hcfpcimodem-0.99mbsibeta02123100k2.4.18_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm

package hcfpcimodem-0.99mbsibeta02123100k2.4.18_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm is
already installed

while...

#rpm -q -i hcfpcimodem-0.99mbsibeta02123100k2.4.18_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm

package hcfpcimodem-0.99mbsibeta02123100k2.4.18_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm is
not installed

Same results for rpm -q -l

It insists that the package is not installed, when it is. Why? How can
I get remove it now?

Thanks,

George
