Oh, probably doesn't matter. cts/rts is a bit more efficient because it is
interrupt driven.  You can try either, and set it through setserial ( man
setserial )

It should be in your dev fs as /dev/ttySHCF0.  This detail you shouln't need
to worry about, as it should be automatically setup by the setup program,
which creates it.  You can optionally change the /dev/modem yourself
optionally.  It is only a matter of preference.  In application programs you
can choose to either refer to the modem as "ttySHCF0" or as "modem".

Are you talking about kppp?  If so I don't know kppp.  Look at the kppp help
in kde.

This may very well be caused by a network problem instead of the modem.
These errors happen mainly when the browser can't resolve an ip number
because it can't find a dns server.   I believe you can configure all that
in kppp.
