[hcflinux] Debian - Installation and hcfpciconfig successful, but modem does nothing

I have copied and pasted the output file of hcfpciconfig --dumpdiag to the
end of this message.  Please note that unlike running hcfpciconfig with no
options, hcfpciconfig --dumpdiag did not terminate successfully, but rather,
displayed a message about "unable to handle null pointer dereference at
00000004", or something like that, and then a screenfull of hexadecimal
diagnostics, then a message about dumping the diagnostic data, then the
program hung, and I had to open a new terminal to get the output file.  If
it's any help, I could run it again, and write down the displayed messages.

A Windows copy and paste of the file output by hcfpciconfig --dumpdiag
