Hi,

you seem to have an ACF 33.6 v.34 modem and not an HCF or HSF software
modem. As you probably guessed, Linuxant only provides drivers for the HCF
or HSF Conexant chipsets.

I understand that you can communicate with the modem using minicom so it
seems to be working properly. You probably just need to set the same device
in your ppp software as you are using in minicom.

Subsequent to my last message, I was able to use minicom. I needed to use
minicom -s. This was not obvious to me. It appeared that minicom (without
the -s option) was changing the configuration as I entered in the dialogs.
However, it was not using the configuration and I needed to use minicom -s.

The Network Device Control is not able to detect the modem and the other
scripts like listmodem.sh and scanmodem are also not able to detect the
modem. It is not clear if the modem has the old Rockwell RPI chipset and I
need to use that driver.

At the moment, I use libmodem software to communicate with the modem and
this seems to be working satisfactorily.
