Hi,

which application has trouble finding your modem with Red Hat 9? Can you
please send us the file generated by "hcfpciconfig --dumpdiag" in Red Hat 9?

With Mandrake, you had this message in the output of "dmesg" and this is why
your modem device didn't show up.

---
0433120.480: HCF: Asic_Configure(ASIC_CFG_BASE_ADDR) failed
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 000000e4
---

If possible, you should install the kernel source RPM supplied by Mandrake.
You could then use the generic drivers instead of the pre-compiled drivers.
This would probably solve the problem.

Hi,

I have used the first and second options:

>> Please try to boot your kernel with the option "pci=biosirq" as
suggested.

"noapic",
>> "acpi=off" and/or "apm=off".

... and don't work.

I don´t use this option because I don´t know. I'm no expert, I'm new user of
Linux.

NOTE:
I have installed Red Hat 9 distribution for test purposes only.
/dev/ttySHCF0 exist, but the
modem not found.
