Hi,

I think this could be an IRQ issue and there are a few things your could
try.

1) Play with the kernel options "pci=noacpi", "acpi=off", "noapic" and/or
"apm=off".

2) Configure and install a generic 2.4 kernel with the ACPI patches found on
this web site:
http://sf.net/projects/acpi

If you try with your own custom kernel, you will then need to use the
generic HCF driver (instead of a driver specific to one distribution/kernel)
and compile the modules with "hcfpciconfig".

Subject: [hcflinux] Use of HCFPCI modem under Debian

Here's some more info on the problem:

I tried upgrading the kernel (to 2.4.21 from 2.4.18); however, I still
receive the same batch of error messages:
PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:12.0
         HCF ASIC ID: 215
         3738763.275: HCF: DEVMGR ERROR...

What makes the problem more perplexing is that the modem worked fine
under the Mandrake distribution (kernel 2.4.19) using the Mandrake
version of the same drivers.

Has anyone had the above error messages before, and discovered the solution?

Thanks,
Tim
