Hi

Hope you can help with my modem problems:

Background:
Vendor 127A and device 1005:This is a Rockwell/Connexiant HCF modem.

Mandrake Linux 9.1 Bamboo-i586 20030317 17:24
2.4.21-0.13mdk

Modem (internal)
Taicom Model MR56PVS-HI 56K

File installed:
hcfpcimodem-1.00lnxt03091600free_k2.4.21_0.13mdk-1mdk.i586.rpm

I am able to get the modem to dial the number, but it doesn't sound like it is sending a connection string, then I get a busy signal.

I have confirmed with other Linux users that they are able to dial up to Telstra Bigpond from Linux systems using KPPP by discussions on News groups.

I have set out the logs of KPPP and Win98 if that is any help.

Hoping someone can help me with this. It is a real pain having to surf with Windows, then reboot to Linux.

Cheers
Paul
