Hi,

the only suspicious message is:

---
Oct 16 14:45:28 server /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: missing kernel or user
mode driver dgcusbdcp
---

but if you get the:

---
Oct 16 14:43:52 server kernel: usb.c: registered new driver dcgusbdcp
---

message, then the module is likely correctly loaded.

Instead of trying to use the driver as a FAX server at first, you should
test it with simple things. For example, you could use a simple
telecommunication software like minicom with the /dev/ttyACM0 serial
device to see if it works. After that, you could try a dial up
connection, etc... In this way, it will be easier to identify the source
of the problem.

Note that dgcdcp*, dgcdiag* and dgcdiagdmp are not serial devices, in
fact, you do not need to use them for a typical use of the driver.
/dev/ttyACM0 or /dev/modem is what you should use.
