Hi Sumit,

I assume that your country is properly set to Germany (check with hsfconfig -i),
and that you have also tried ATS0=1 (auto-answer).

Is the modem directly connected to a normal PSTN (Telekom) line or via
a PBX (Telefonanlage bzw. A/B Adaptor)? Is the RING cadence unusual?
Have you tried different lines?

Unfortunately I don't have access to a 14f1:2f00 device to verify ring
detection with and there are several possible causes for it not working,
but I recall that it did work with the SmartHSF modem in my Sony laptop,
sogar als ich in Deutschland unterwegs war..

Gruss
Marc

PS: wahrscheinlich werde ich in den kommenden Wochen wieder nach Berlin
kommen; wenn das Problem noch nicht geloest ist, koennten wir es uns
vielleicht vor Ort zusammen anschauen!
