hi everyone,

unfortunately i don't have a fix, this mail is only intended to add information
to the picture. keep what i'm writing as a grain of salt, given that i'm under
the (quite pleasant...) effects of a Leffe Blonde ;-)

right now, this is the situation: as previously stated, the connection succeeds rarely, but more frequently when i start it from the "raw console".

when succeeds, it terminates quite easily, after a random period of time.

several times, the hsf modem stays silent during the handshake; otherwise,
it "stalls" in a certain phase of the handshake, producing indefinitely the
same sound.

what i would like to add is the fact that when i attempt to unload the hsf
modules, or the cmpci (cmedia) module, this is what i get in the log when i
trigger another "ifup ppp0":

what for me are meaningless numbers, can be significant to you...

when the hsf module loads, i can see a "sharing irq 11 with device ...0b..."
in the system log (0b = cmedia audio device)

this time, i'll attach the output of lspci.

thank you in advance for any help
gabriele.
