Create /dev/modem as a Symlink to /dev/ttySHSF0 using:

ln -s /dev/ttySHSF0 /dev/modem

The dialler software will hopefully look for the modem there (I don't
know how KPPP works myself) If not, try configuring it to use /dev/modem
or /dev/ttySHSF0 directly.
