Hi there,

i'm new to this list and have a question regarding the modem-disfunction
under Red Hat 7.3 (Kernel 2.4.18-3) on my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M laptop.

Vendor ID: 1106 Name: Via
Device ID: 3068 Name: Via
Subvendor ID: 10CF Name: Fujitsu
Subdevice ID: 118E
Revision ID: 70

Is this Device supported?

The installation of the HFS driver worked fine, but i can't get no
connection via pppd.

/var/log/messages:

Jan 26 13:23:37 localhost pppd[2147]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0

Jan 26 13:24:23 localhost pppd[2147]: Connect script failed
Jan 26 13:24:24 localhost pppd[2147]: Exit.

Under Gnome the whole things crashes (described as in the FAQ,
http://www.mbsi.ca/cnxtlindrv/hsf/faq.html). So i tested after removing
the sound driver (with rmmod -r via82cxxx_audio) but: no effort.

Any advice?
