Hi,

the reason you are unable to use the generic driver is probably because your
kernel sources are not installed. You should install the kernel source
package provided by SuSE for kernel version 2.4.4-4GB.

You could also upgrade to a kernel version for which we provice pre-compiled
binary drivers.

I don't recommend staying with an old version because they have more bugs
and could potentially crash your system or your connection from time to
time.

Subject: [hsflinux] SuSE 7.2 pro and kernel 2.4.4-4GB

Dear Sir/madam
I have SuSE 7.2 pro running kernel 2.4.4-4GB (standard
for 7.2). I am trying to configure my hsf modem. Previously it has worked
under the above but only with the 2.4.4-4GB driver, sadly I have lost the
driver which was on my windows partition, the entire, contents of which were
recently lost due to a virus. I have tried the binary RPM but to no avail, I
keep getting one of two error messages when recompiling the modules 1) no
..../version.h 2) no ..../autoconf.h yet I am using the correct directories.
Every thing is as it was the time the 2.4.4-4GB driver worked, please help.
Maybe someone could mail me the driver if that is possible? I promise that
if you do when I figure out how to do so I will store the driver on my
website for download.

                                              Regards Urquhart
