[hsflinux] Distribution of old linuxant drivers

Hi,

the license agreement for the beta drivers clearly states that they should
not be redistributed without Linuxant's written consent. Now that we
released the official version with many important bug fixes and new
debugging tools, we expect that the various sites will start sharing the
free version of our drivers which may be freely redistributed.

The old beta version is really obsolete and had a bunch of problems that
would cause technical support nightmares (even if we say it's not officially
supported people send us tons of mail) and negatively affect our reputation.

Subject: [hsflinux] Distribution of old linuxant drivers

Hi
I am curious about the Linuxant developers' stance on distribution of
the old beta versions of the modem drivers. I noticed that version
5.03.27beta is available for free download at various sites (including
within the Gentoo distribution). Is this acceptable use of the drivers,
and do/did you allow redistribution of the drivers?
My understanding is that only part of the driver was released under the
GPL, while part was information proprietary to Conexant.
Regards
Damien
