Hi all:

I have a problem to install the free hsf driver
hsfmodem-6.03.00lnxt03091800free. I tried to install
both from rpm and from tar package, but ended up with
the same negative result. For example, when installing
from tar, at the stage of running `hsfconfig' command
I get the following message:

ERROR: hsf driver not active

(More details can be found at the end of the message)

It is a DELL Inspiron 4150 with SuSE 8.2 (stock kernel
linux-2.4.20-4GB). The modem is recognized as Conexant
MD56ORD V.92 MDC Modem, PCI ID 8086:2486.

Let me also mention that a previous hsflinmodem driver
(hsflinmodem-5.03.27lnxtbeta03042700) works like a
charm in the same environment (only tried rpm
install),
so that I have a stable connection via the modem.

Coming back to the problem, it is kind of obvious that
the hsfmodem modules are not loaded: lsmod does not
show any hsf*. Do not really know what else could I
try
to investigate this issue.

Thanks all,
Pavel
