please try the version that was released today (6.03.00lnxt03112100). It
fixes an issue with SuSE 9.

 I have exactly the same problem. Same HW, same SuSE version.
 SuSE 9 comes with that driver, but not in kernel.
 I tried to install the driver SuSE ships and the last free generic one
at linuxant. None of them worked.
