[hsflinux] Conexant Modem drivers not loading

I am running Mandrake 9.2 on a Sony Vaio PCG-NV105 laptop, and just can not
get the modem working. I have downloaded the appropriate HSF modem driver,
unzipped and installed with the RPMDRAKE. Every time I try and do anything
with it, HSFCONFIG for example, it tells me that the drivers are not
loaded. I have run dmesg, and it tells me "PCI : No IRQ known for interupt
pin B of device 0:1f. 6. Please try using pci=biosirq" I have checked
that device 0:1f is indeed the modem, but I have already added the line
append="pci=biosirq" into my lilo.conf file, as I have found instructions
to do elsewhere. Am I right to have done this ? and if so, why am I still
getting these messages in dmesg ? Any help would be appreciated as I am
looking to use this as my main business machine instead of Windows, but can
not do so until I have a functioning Modem.

Many Thanks,
