I created that file, and I've attached it in case you need to examine it
directly.

When I executed it for the first time in 2.6.6, after about 20 seconds the
whole X desktop hanged, I couldn't move the mouse, couldn't type anything,
the media player which was playing some song got silent, a full freeze.  I
then rebooted manually into 2.6.6 again.  At system startup, I got the

And the set of error messages enclosed in +++ pairs just repeated over and
over again.  About one minute took between each set of error messages to get
printed.

I rebooted manually again, but this time, into 2.4.26.  I then moved
/etc/modprobe.d/hsf to ~, and rebooted into 2.6.6 again.  I suspected that
something's broken because last time I installed the driver in 2.4.26, so I
decided to reinstall it in 2.6.6.  When I logged into 2.6.6 again, I copied
the file back into /etc/modprobe.d, and then ran "dpkg -i hsf*.deb" again.
After the module got compiled, and dpkg outputted "done." (right before when
I used to get "module not found" error previously) again the system freezed.
This time I managed to log into the virtual console F1, and ran free, and I
noted that I've got about 4KB free physical memory and 6KB free swap space.
I've got 1GB RAM installed, and a total of 100MB swap space.

No matter how many times I repeat the instructions, the same results I get.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?  Anything I can do to fix this?
