Hi,

did you tried to make a simple dial-up connection just to make sure that 
the modem driver is working fine? You should also make sure that the 
right country is selected with the 'hsfconfig --info' command in a root 
shell. You can change this setting with the 'hsfconfig --country' 
command in a root shell.
