[hsflinux] hsf breaks

Hi,
Since installing the 
hsfmodem-7.47.00.01full_k2.6.16_1.2096_FC5-1fdr.i686.rpm, the modem 
initially worked, but when I went to reboot, FC5 crashes at the stage, 
"Starting udev:" with a message like:

Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000005
 printing eip:
c0103bc9
*pde = 00000000
Recursive die() failure, output supressed
 <0> Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill the idle task!
