[hsflinux] debian 3.1r2 (kernel 2.6.8-2-386) hsf modem => no connection

Hi,

did you tried to pick up the phone when the modem attempts to connect? 
What do you hear? How did you determine that the hardware is working fine?

Did you tried to use version 7.18.00.07 of the driver with the new setup 
to see if it works?
