you have a HDA modem and HDA support was not compiled in the driver 
according to 'hsfconfig --info', likely because the compilation of the 
HDA related modules silently failed.

Please try with the latest version of the HSF driver available at:


The new version of the driver ( provides better support for 
the 2.6.21 kernel. You can manually get the error messages generated 
while building the kernel modules by using the 'make' command in the 
'/usr/lib/hsfmodem/modules' directory.
