[riptide] Riptide Crashing

I have a problem running with the riptide drivers, I think it's a bug 
rather than a configuration error, but someone with more experience 
maybe  better placed to answer that. I'm using redhat8.0 and have taken 
the tar source files and built then in my kernel (2.4.18-24.8.0).

I am able to get sound through the card but in certain situations I find 
that the software crashes. This can result in  - the browser shutting - 
if the page I am visiting is trying to display sound then this sometimes 
seems to cause it to go. Also if I try and run certain games the whole 
system seems to hang - eg methane - this causes certain keyboard lights 
to flash and the system to be completely inoperable.

The error message from the system logs after the browser crash is below.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
