[driverloader] can't set essid in 1.24

I tried using driverloader 1.24 and now when I try to set the essid, it just 
reports an "operation not permitted" error. The previous versions of 
driverloader worked fine. Also, annoyingly driverloader 1.23 locks up my 
keyboard when I try to remove the module. 1.24 fixed that problem, but of 
course I can't set the essid...

hardware and software:

hp pavilion ze4430 with broadcom 54g chipset
debian 3.0 with kernel 2.6 test 7
