[driverloader] WPC54G Can't connect to WRT54G

Can you explain the following in more detail:
"Since you probably have 2 or more network interfaces
in your computer, you 
will need to manually change the routing table. If
you want to use your 
wireless interface to connect to the internet, you
will need to change your 
default routing line to 'dev eth1' and set correctly
your default gateway."

I was unaware this was needed and I am having a
problem where it appears that I am connected to the
AP, have an IP address, but can not touch the
internet.
