[driverloader] no signal or just bad config?

Hi, all --

I have driverloader 1.65 loaded on my SuSE 9.0 machine (and then reloaded
because of a kernel update from -192 to -199 but that certainly brings to
light some worries about the next upgrade -- when I won't have a wire
around to get the next driverloader version. Hmmm...

Anyway, it's in and talks to the card (though it looks like I have to
install the pcmcia package in order to config wlan0; does that make
sense?) but I have zero signal strength.

I have an SMC Barricade 7004AWBR 802.11b router and this USR 5416 802.11g
card. They *should* be able to talk to each other, right? Do I need any
special config to make that so?

Although the signal has never been good over here in this corner (a scant
40 feet away through a couple of interior walls; I don't get it), I
should at least have *something*. I don't know whether I really have no
signal or just need some additional config. I definitely know that I
sure don't know what to do next :-)

TIA & HAND

:-D
