Hi,

as long as you do not see an access point in the output of the 'iwlist
scanning' command in a root shell, you will be unable to connect to an
access point.

It is possible, as you suggested, that the wireless card is not powered
up. If you have a physical button on your laptop required to activate
the wireless card in Windows XP, please press it. If it doesn't work, it
is possible that you will have to boot in Windows XP, press the button
there and then reboot (not a cold boot!) in Linux.

It is also possible that the problem is related to an IRQ routing
problem in your kernel. You could try to enable/disable ACPI and/or APIC
with appropriate kernel boot parameters to see if there is a difference.

If you require more assistance, please send at support at linuxant.com the
output of 'dumpdiag'. Type the following in a root shell:

---
dldrconfig --dumpdiag
---

Just send us the generated file located in /tmp ('driverloaderdiag.txt').
It'll help us solve the problem.
