1. Read everything (How-to's, Readme's ) you can find packed with the 
drivers and in the internet.

2. try installing it again

3. if it fails again, write exactly: 
   - what you did
   - wich error messages you get
   - what type of modem you have (you will know how to find that out  
     after step 1, but to give you a hint lspci -nv is your friend)

This email will have better chance getting a usefull answer.
