Hi,

I believe your probem is related to the IRQ assignment because of these
messages in the ouput of "dmesg".

---
PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 00:08.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:09.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:09.1
Yenta IRQ list 0898, PCI irq9
PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 00:09.1
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:08.0
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:09.0
---

You should try the kernel options "acpi=off" and/or "apm=off". If that
doesn't work, you can try to configure and install a generic kernel with the
ACPI patches found on this web site: http://sf.net/projects/acpi

Please let us know about your results.

Jean-Simon

Subject: [hcflinux] Problems with RH.8.0 and Compaq Presario

Hi,

I have a Compaq Presario (17XL series) and can successfully use my modem
under Windows 2000 (listed as "Compaq Global 56K V90 HCF MiniPCI Modem").
But when I try it under my RedHat 8.0 (using the
hcfpcimodem-0.99lnxtbeta03042700k2.4.18_14-1rh.i686.rpm package). The
installation works fine, but when I attempt to dial out, I see the following
in /var/log/messages:

The results from running hcfpciconfig with the diag flag can be found at

I would really appreciate some help, if possible.

Thanks in advance,
Rob.
