[hsflinux] NO DIALTONE, Mandrake 9.1 distro ("me too", I know...)

Hi all,

First of all, I have browsed the mailing list archives, and I have read the
docs, so I suppose I am entitled to post here ;-).

I get the NO DIALTONE symptom on the brand new laptop that I bought yesterday
for a friend of mine.

The hardwere is as follows :
	ACER Aspire 1310 XC laptop
	Connexant winmodem
	PCI chipset 1106:3068

The line and the cables are okay because I can connect with a plain old
external modem.

I am located in France. I did not forget to do "hsfconfig --country FRANCE".

I have installed the RPM drivers. They supposedly match the kernel version.

I have not tried yet to copy over the famous INF file settings from Windows.
Will do.

ACPI is not activated (boot with acpi=off). I tried to switch off APIC but
somehow the kernel always reenables it.

Any help is strongly welcome, of course. Diagnostic file is attached. As a
reward and personal contribution, if it succeeds, I will write a page on
linux-on-laptops.org about that laptop ;-).
