Hi,

My name is Leandro from Brazil and I'm Having a problem with my modem Conexant Compatible (USR263095, FCC:3095).
I'm using Mandrake Linux 8.2 Kernel 2.4.18-6mdk with the above modem and I'm using it to be a RAS server.

First Case: when I try to connect by a desktop modem (USRobotics FCC:0637) to the Linux Modem (USR 3095) the connection do not hang up after the connection. But when I try to connect by a laptop modem (TOSHIBA V.90) it disconnects after some seconds...

Second Case: I made the same installation of Mandrake Linux, made the same installation of the same version of the hsfmodem in a previous PC and it is working very well with both client modems(Laptop and desktop modems)...

Fact: The first case is running through a phone center and the second case is running through another phone center and I'm using Microsoft Terminal to connect to the RAS Server instead of Access to Dial-Up Network

Take a look at my system configuration:

# rpm -q hsfmodem

Pay attention to the lines in boldface.

The questions are: Can the phone centers cause these suddenly disconnections? This problem can be caused by incompatibility of the laptop modem and the RAS server modem?? It can be some misconfiguration at the server?? It can be the difference between the two CONNECT lines in boldface??

Please anybody help me!!!... I need this urgently. I have to make this to function until next monday (05/01/04). Any Ideas feel free to mail me at leandro.forte at bol.com.br
