Re: Compaq 2170CA/Knoppix3.6/USR5410 PCMCIA cardhi,
I've been struggling about this card on suse 9.2 for almost a month :) First
things first: the green led never comes on, not even in windows, but the
card works..
I can't comment on eth0, but for the drivers, the driver on linuxant site
has been the only one for me that has worked without problems, but using
this one, it's only a matter of luck for me to get the card running. After
random number of dldrstop;modprobe driverloader commands, i can get it
working. This is the version 4 of driver. Using version 5 and 6, the card is
recognized at every boot, but random crashes occur . I'm using 2.6.10 kernel
and i've applied 16K patch.
It seems sticking with version 4 of driver is the best option for me, but
for the iwlist scan issue, i can't say anything :(
Good luck..
Regards

I have been able to get as far as successfully loading the driver and
starting the card(Power LED on).
I am able to send commands with iwconfig however when I try iwlist wlan0
scan...
1 - The green (TX) led does not come on.
2 - iwlist reports nothing found.
I have installed the latest 6.05? USR drivers on the XP partition of this
system and it is working.
The inf file is odysseyIMF.inf. However when I try to load the drivers
from this file, while drvrloader finds them, the card does not come up
properly.

I noticed a link on the linuxant site for this card, downloaded, and
refered to that inf file, which specified TIACX111.bin. That is where I am
currently with drvrloader reporting success but limited as mentioned above.

  One other note.
With driverloader setup, my eth0 connection no longer works.

  Any suggestions?

  Thanks for your help,
  Jim Brooks
