Hi David

The trick is to use an ATX1 to disable dialtone detection.

I.e.

#--- My /etc/chatscripts/provider ---
TIMEOUT 30
# This chatfile was generated by pppconfig 2.1.
# Please do not delete any of the comments. Pppconfig needs them.
#
# ispauth PAP
# abortstring
ABORT BUSY ABORT 'NO CARRIER' ABORT VOICE ABORT 'NO DIALTONE' ABORT 'NO
DIAL TONE' ABORT 'NO ANSWER' ABORT DELAYED
# modeminit
'' ATZ
OK ATX1
# ispnumber
OK-AT-OK ATDT12345678
# ispconnect
CONNECT \d\c
# prelogin

# ispname
# isppassword
# postlogin

# end of pppconfig stuff

Hope that works for you... I have a G3 600mhz, and it works like a
charm, apart from the odd kernel panic and reboot if I leave it on all
night (A problem I have yet to solve...)

G'luck!

Mike
